Our commitment to privacy
Location data is sensitive, so we take privacy very seriously. The location space has historically been filled with ad tech companies and data monetization companies. We set out to change that.
Radar is a SaaS company, not an ad tech company. Our goal is to help customers build great product experiences with location context. We do not sell any data we collect, and we do not share location data across customers.
Radar is Privacy Shield-certified and GDPR-compliant. Under GDPR, Radar is a data processor on behalf of our customers. The Radar SDK only collects data if end users opt into location permissions, and does not collect personally identifiable information like name or email by default. The platform allows customers to minimize the data they collect, turning on only the context types relevant to their use case: store visits for shopping apps, airport visits and traveling detection for travel apps, and so on. End users can opt out at any time by revoking location permissions and, under GDPR, also exercise their right to be forgotten.
